A portion of my work surrounded designs to help with operational issues. Here are a few examples of some of the designs i’ve created.
Some of the parking locations for Beam vehicles reside in crowded areas such as event spaces. As such, the team required a barrier system that effectively highlights the location of the vehicles.
Design Rationale
I created the design for this using Beam’s brand colours. One key consideration I had during the process was to ensure that it can be adapted to be used in various events in the future.
One key aspect that will be prioritised in the design is visibility. Clear sight-lines are crucial for both attendees and event staff to ensure safety and maintain clarity from afar. Therefore, the barrier system will be designed with 1colour, allowing for unobstructed views through the barriers.
The Australia market was about to introduce two new additions to the Beam fleet, namely the fifth-generation Beam Saturn e-scooter and Beam Apollo. A key feature in these new vehicles is the Micro Mobility Augmented Riding Safety (MARS) system, which aims to protect pedestrians and enable local governments to have better control over e-vehicle parking and riding areas.
Design Rationale
To effectively communicate the information, I created a visual comparison of the two vehicles emphasizing their similarities and differences with the help of icons and graphics. The primary objective here was to simplify the information presented to improve comprehension. As this was a conference, I also wanted to really highlight the new features of the vehicles so that we can capture the attention of conference attendees.
The TH Ride Kind and Park Kind Poster is an instructional poster designed for the Beam Safety Academy in Thailand. The poster aims to clearly and concisely present a set of important rules related to riding and parking etiquette.
Design Rationale
To enhance comprehension and aid quick information processing, I used illustrations to better depict the different scenarios and convey the relevant parking etiquettes. I used a darker background image and gave each box a lot of breathing space to clearly highlight and separate each section.
